For the Giants
Because they won yesterday and they need to win today.
I'm glad the game is at 4:30 our time, it was a bit challenging to wait until I got home yesterday to watch the game, all the time making sure I didn't hear anything about the outcome. It worked and fast fwding the commercials is key; although I did let them run a couple of times so I could put some metallic purple paint on one of the ongoing pieces, fix the pirate pumpkin, re-charge double A batteries, stretch and other things.
I made veggie tacos for myself as R had made himself a monster beef stew (ick). Today, he did call to let me know that there is a crock pot going for dinner tonight. Huzzah!
I have the visit to Toyota after work, they are going to put things right, and this will be the end of the hatchback drama. I need to make sure Erik Durazo sees that there is nothing else wrong with the hatch except the shocks and the one panel that's broken. I don't want to lift up that hatch and find anything else wrong with it. So, I need to open the hatch with Erik standing right there and acknowledging all of this.
The Church are being inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame - go Steve, Peter, Marty and Tim. What a great moment for them.
Oh, look! Here comes the sun, kind of.

I wonder how this will translate on paper? Canvas? I'm experimenting with yellow on red, then black, yellow and red. The paint is taking a long time to dry and I have to have 2 done by October 3rd. It will happen, and if they don't dry then I've on order some prints that can easily be put in frames...voila - art!!
Weekend was innnteresting and fun. Friday we stayed in and had the delicious Derlomier wine I bought - yummmmm...went well with the chicken and polenta experiment. We're doing another chicken polenta concoction in the crock pot, I should say we DID another chicken and polenta concoction in the crock pot because it's done and it looks divine!! (Oh, the screaming banshee child is out in the courtyard again - does that child have a mute switch?). Anyway, the kid will not sabotage my images of delicious food - take that brat (or Joey Ramone will pass me that base ball bat!).
S came over with new g.f. S and their doggy O. It's so very strange to see S living an entirely different life, a complete 180 as far as domestic life: living with a woman who has 2 children is the BIGGEST change I saw. S is completely different than wife #2, COMPLETELY! She's quiet, very low key, low talker...kinda cold. We started busting out the bottles of red, and she kept up but kept saying "this is the most I've ever had to drink", well my dear, you are a grown woman and you made you're decision to keep going. There was plenty of food and water to help you keep your balance and control, but somewhere it all went wrong. Suddenly S is sobbing uncontrollably which then escalates to full on weeping; it was quite disturbing and I asked S what we could do to ease her despair but the response was that he didn't know, it was the first time it had happened in the year they've been together. WOW! Both R and I figure it has something to do with the situation with her ex. We didn't pry, we really didn't ask much about how S and S met, how long she's been divorced, if HE is divorced yet. Ugh. So while the meltdown is happening R takes O for a walk and which went splendidly; upon returning R commented how O was a dream to walk around the block - yay!
We watch an episode of Craig Ferguson and S falls asleep. We head off to bed. Next morning, S is of course embarrassed so I tell her the story about Gregory Peck and the Fourth of July and she seems to ease a bit. Breakfast is made and eaten, they gather their things and head north. We lounge a bit, clean the house a bit, take showers and head towards the warming hut and a bbq with K and C and their friends.
Foggy day but not too cold, great food, drink and great new people. The unpleasantness in the parking lot with drunk screaming bright red man and screaming hussy wife evaporates into an afternoon of laughs, music and movie talk. Had a great time with M and his wife M (I believe). We stay till the very end to help with the breakdown because K and C are serious about their BBQs and rented much equipment to make it all go beautifully. We head home, stop to watch the patch of sun struggle through the fog and smooch. Upon returning home, we have a bit of cake, I have half of the last bagel and watch iron chef, Cate Cora wins and I go to sleep.
Today? Sunny, sunny, sunny - an we have a BBQ do over?

A moment of childhood
Spinning around and around catching that innocent high, then laughing and falling onto the cool green grass. It's summer and the sun is setting, the big oak tree in the back yard is providing the interesting shadows amongst which your favorite cat is playing hide and seek with the fading rays of sunlight.

Break in the storm
This gorgeous sight lasted about 3 hours, we're back to gray and rain. Look, I love the rain and goddesses know we need it so I'm not going to complain. I don't want San Francisco to turn into the new hot and smoggy L.A. I shudder to think on it.
Heading out to Internos tonight, tomorrow breakfast with good friend PS; then perhaps puppy play date with Cerbie - I want some one on one training time with that little rascal!
I love my "posted" time.
